The right to family allowance is not universal, being strictly dependent on the overall income and assets of the household where the child resides. To access this monthly benefit from Social Security, the family's annual income will determine the corresponding bracket, with maximum thresholds beyond which the State ceases support.

The law defines clear moments of suspension of this vital benefit. The State suspends the allowance if the child leaves the national territory for an extended period or if the mandatory annual school proof is not carried out in a timely manner during the month of July (for young people aged between 16 and 24 years old).

Support also ends definitively once the young person is effectively and permanently inserted into the job market and begins to make tax deductions from their own salary.
